Cakes are composed of the base cake, a filling and a frosting.
There are also special additions, such as:
- Liquor infusions - these add accent to the cake base.
- Flavor bursts - fresh fruits, nuts or candies that are added
for texture and taste to the fillings.
- Cake lining - This is a very thin layer of fruit preserves
or citrus curd on the cake base that gives a complementary
flavor.
Most wedding cakes have more than one tier and each tier can
